The aft cabin and head were nearly completed in previous years. A few additional trim pieces were added this season to finish it off.
The aft cabin has a nice storage locker and the head of the berth. The door was finally finish and installed with hinges and a push button latch to complete that wall. The AC and DC outlets for charging devices are to the left of the door.

The door was added in the aft head also. This was also done with the cane insert to allow for ventilation.

The bin board was added to the aft berth. This is needed to keep the mattress and person sleeping there from rolling out under heavy seas. Push button latches were also fitted to all the cedar lined drawers.

The last few posts wrap up our progress on the boat in the 2024/25 season. I am back is South Dakota to enjoy the summer on the lake. I will be back down in October or November before the snow flies. Hi Mark. Beautiful work! I have a few quiestions. Can you tell me the thickness of the sintra board you used for the roof? Any idea of the dimensions of the groove that you got cncd into the panels? I am doing the same with my boat and wanted to copy your panel pattern. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you. The headliner project was probable the biggest we had to tackle. Setting up the grid, cutting the panel, painting and fabricating all the teak trim was a killer. I think the Sintra was about 1/4 inch or 6 millimeters thick. I can’t remember the exact dimensions of the groove. It is a small v-shaped groove not much more than 3 mm wide and about 2mm deep. We cut several grooves until we found the look we liked. I am back in South Dakota for the summer. When I get back to the boat in November I can try to measure it more accurately.
