The Wildthing has the original keel-stepped aluminium mast (Isomat) with a double sets of spreaders, cutter rigged, aluminium boom with quick reefing system. The boom has been shortened about 36 inches to allow ease in handling. All stays were replaced in 2005 with 1x19 wire cable with custom compressed fittings, The chain plates were replaces in 2005 and were all custom fabricated in stainless steel (SS) and mounted through the caprail on the inside of the hull.
